She’s pristine, turn key, & shed kept in Thomaston, Maine, a better than new example of the finest combination of Maine custom yacht building at Lyman-Morse, along with the best design team at C. Raymond Hunt. Being a twin jet propelled yacht, she will cruise at 24 to 34 knots without a worry of Lobster or crab pot buoys! Exquisite interior finish and top electronics make her a must see for your next purchase. Beyond belief!
The "Peregrine" is an outstanding example of Lyman-Morse quality yacht construction, fit and finish! Though she features traditional Downeast styling on her exterior, Peregrine's systems make use of the latest performance and sound reduction. Her C-9 ACERT Caterpillar engines are coupled with Hamilton marine HJ322 jets. Steering is mouse controlled with a Hamilton Jet-Blue Arrow system. High-density material in the stringer system as well as Metalastic type anti-vibration mounts and strategically placed sound deadening tiles have minimised structure-borne sound and created a comfortable interior while cruising at 30 knots.
PRACTICAL: With her proven Hamilton Jet drives and C-9 ACERT Cats, she has a good turn of speed at 30 knots and no worries of catching lobster pots. The easily driven Hunt designed hull and attention to weight give not only very good high end performance, but an economical cruising speed-great for trips south both inside the ICW or outside.
SIMPLE: Besides the incredible Furuno electronics package, she is easy to run and simple to maintain. The owners opted to go without a bow thruster and use mouse controlled-controls which the jets love-very easy to maneuver the boat in any direction especially sideways using the powerful jets.
ELEGANT: A classic New England Hunt design. Well-appointed mahogany interior, beautiful galley, and many touches on the exterior like the beautiful custom toe rail, exquisite stainless by Lyman-Morse Fabrication, and lovely choice of colors set her apart from other boats in the anchorage.
PROVEN: This is Lyman-Morse's 17th build with Peter Boyce at Hunt design in New Bedford, MA. Not only have all these boats been very successful, but this hull design traces its roots to the original deep V, Moxie, that set the standard for the whole industry 35 years ago! Easily driven, no compromise on the deep V, these hulls shapes are like a fine European sports car. Comfort or meandering along the coast-she is at home in either medium.
"Peregrine's owners have cruised many of the highest quality yachts in their ownership past. Their past experience and attention to innovative design features, combined with the highly skilled designers and craftsmen at Lyman-Morse, have all been incorporated into this refined custom yacht. Since delivery, she has been stored in a heated and dust-free custom shed and her full time captain reports that she is in flawless condition without a single needed repair or current maintenance item to address. She is a must see if you are in the market for the most refined and better than new 42' Hunt design yacht imaginable".
LAYOUT AND DESIGN:
The hull is a full-deadrise deep-V with integral chine and lift strips. The hull shell is infused in the existing Hunt P38 female mould. Custom sheer dam, transom insert and jet intake mounting insert pads were added to give the boat its 42’ feet. Foam coring was thermoformed where necessary to conform with hull curvature. A custom deck and flybridge mold will be built.
The steering system is Hamilton Jet-Blue Arrow (two stations), mouse controlled. The general twin Cat Engines (C9 ACERT @ 2500 rpm) installation have been designed to limit noise transmission through structure-borne sound. The stringer system is specially built with high-density material for sound absorption and Metalastik type of mounts for further sound reduction.
The owners enter the living quarters through a custom-designed and built paneled French door. The interior is a rich varnished Mahogany woodwork built to the highest standard of cabinetry. All efforts were made to keep the interior light without sacrificing the carpentry.
