One of my customers from several years ago -- when I was at  Dodson Boatyard in Stonington, CT -- visited me at Lyman-Morse during the summer of 2003. It was great to catch up with such a good customer. As conversation developed over the year, he became increasingly interested in the new 38' Chuck Paine/Mark Fitzgerald jet boat project we were building called ANNIE ROSE.

We continued our thoughts and plans for almost a year. After I took him out on a spin on  the 38 jet that was nearing completion, he was satisfied he had found the performance he was looking for and we began to build MAESTRO, the second of this great, custom jet boat design. He had been looking for a fast, dry boat with a comfortable ride. The new boat's layout is slightly different below than the other 38 jet which was designed as a hardtop. She is powered by twin 440 hp Yanmars and twin 292 Hamilton jets, giving her a top speed of 37 knots and a cruise in the low 30s. It's a real compliment to have such a wonderful customer return and set out on such an exciting new project.
